Abstract
The aim of this research was to investigate whether the equipment developed for eye tracking is effective for improving brain activity. The experiment was conducted on 16 healthy male and female adults. The eye tracking equipment was used to conduct visual pursuit movement and the level of brain activity was measured using electroencephalography (EEG). The highest BTB power value for each brain wave showed that for ¥á or SMR waves, they were within the P3 domain before, during and after measurement. For low-¥â wave, O2 was highest before and during application. After application, it was highest at O1 domain. For high-¥â wave, the O2 was highest before and during application. After application, the P4 domain showed the highest value. The BTB power was found to increase during and after application compared to before application of the equipment. The ¥á power-value was significantly different before, during and after application in Fp1, Fp2, F4, T3, T4, P3, P4, O1, O2 domains; while the SMR power value was significantly different in Fp1, Fp2, F3, F4, P4 domains; and the low-¥â value was significantly different in Fp1, Fp2, T4, P3 domains (¥á<0.05). In conclusion it seems that the equipment for pursuit eye movement is effective in improving brain function by activating and stimulating the brain.
